Background
Weinan Wang is a highly skilled labour and employment lawyer who advises on a broad range of workplace law matters in both unionized and non-unionized environments. His practice includes advising on compliance with employment standards legislation, workplace policies, terminations, wrongful dismissal risk management, human rights issues, executive compensation, workplace investigations, and negotiation and administration of collective agreements.
Before joining Hyde HR Law, Weinan practiced at a reputable employment and labour law firm in Toronto, where he advised both employers and employees across Canada.
Prior to practicing in Ontario, Weinan was a lawyer in China (and remains licensed to practice there), focusing on business law and dispute resolution. His experience includes mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, and contract and shareholder disputes across a wide range of regulated industries, including pharmaceuticals, commercial real estate, and clean energy.
Weinan's international background allows him to provide practical, business-oriented advice to organizations operating in Canada, including those with cross-border operations or unfamiliarity with Canada's employment and labour law requirements. He understands the needs and concerns of organizations with diverse ownership structures and takes the time to learn each client's business to deliver strategic, tailored legal advice.
