Mark Wolfe emplyoment lawyer toronto

Susan was called to the Ontario Bar in February 2002.  Before earning her law degree, at Queen’s University, Susan studied history, political science and government at the University of Toronto and at Harvard University.

Prior to studying law, Susan worked for a decade in the financial services industry, beginning in the retail-banking sector and later specializing in retirement investment portfolios.  During her financial services career, Susan earned numerous sales and customer service awards, and her in-depth knowledge of both practices and procedures led to her being regularly consulted on the drafting of policy manuals, nationwide.  Earning the respect of her colleagues at all levels, Susan was also consulted regarding the implementation of the earliest pay equity legislation within the financial services industry.  Upon becoming a lawyer, she continued to operate with the same principles that she had in her prior career; that of acquiring the necessary expertise to benefit her clients, to the very highest standard.

Susan represents and advises both employers and employees in a wide range of employment matters including wrongful dismissal litigation, hiring and strategic advice, performance management, discipline, termination, severance packages, enforcement matters and drafting of employment agreements. She also assists clients in policy development, employment standards compliance and litigation; constructive dismissal, human rights issues and complaints (including sexual harassment and discrimination).

A tireless litigator, Susan has appeared before trial and appellate courts throughout Ontario, including the Supreme Court of Canada. With over 20 years of experience assisting clients through complex litigation matters, she brings her unique and highly developed skill set to her employment law practice at Hyde HR Law.
