Mark practices in all areas of labour, employment, and human rights law. He has a passion for advocacy and helping clients navigate challenging workplace issues in a cost-effective and pragmatic manner.
Mark provides advice and representation to both employers and employees on a wide range of employment law issues, including employment standards, disability management, accommodation, harassment and discrimination, discipline and dismissal, workplace investigations, health and safety, workplace contract and policy implementation, non-solicitation and non-compete agreements, wrongful dismissal litigation, human rights applications, and settlement negotiation.
While representing employees, Mark is a tireless advocate and leverages his experience representing clients in wrongful dismissal and human rights litigation to help employees expeditiously enforce their rights, obtain justice, and receive the compensation to which they are entitled. Mark also assists clients with negotiating employment agreements for executive positions.
When acting for employers, Mark strategically assists management in minimizing liabilities by preventing problems before they arise, including by implementing best practices, well-drafted employment agreements, and up-to-date workplace policies. Mark advises companies of all sizes in a wide range of industries and employs a client-centred approach to fully understand clients’ goals, workplace culture, and operational requirements. Moreover, Mark’s clients benefit from his experience conducting third-party workplace investigations into allegations of workplace harassment, discrimination, and other misconduct.
Mark obtained his law degree from the University of Toronto, where he also previously obtained an honours degree in psychology. Prior to joining Hyde HR Law, Mark articled and practiced at another well-known labour and employment law firm.
